College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving® started in 2003 as a summer side hustle. Two college friends, Omar Soliman and Nick Friedman, borrowed a van to haul unwanted furniture for neighbors. What began as a way to earn extra money turned into a full-fledged business plan that won an entrepreneurship competition at the University of Miami. By 2005, they launched College HUNKS Hauling Junk. By 2007, they became the first franchised moving and junk removal company in the U.S. Today, College HUNKS has grown to 175+ franchises across 350+ territories in the U.S. and Canada.
